thats fine and dandy! well done
your first inspection, you should be pleased
some inspectors are sooooo picky! ima cm and got a good with outstanding areas on my 1st inspection but my sister, who, imo is the best childcarer i have ever seen got a satisfactory last week for her 1st inspection.
and the inspector gave her absolutly no positive feedback but criticised everything
my sis is a qualified nursery nurse has special needs training ,has worked in schools as a highly valued member of teaching staff for 10 years has 3 delightfull kiddies of her own and gets slated by ofsted for not having ONE poxy form she shdve had!
ofsted have it all wrong imo.

Thats terrible, I had all my paper work sorted out and she thought i was excellent with my approach and attitude to the children etc, she moaned that my toys werent organised, I'm not a damn nursery!! they really havent got a clue, she also turned my gas fire on in from on my kids and almost burnt one of them, not at all happy, might even put in a complaint, they go on about safety then one of their inspectors puts my kids at risk to prove a poit!!!

Lottiesmummy - I got a satisfactory because my fireguard wasnt in place. Although I got good in every area I was marked down to satisfactory because of that.

HI, JUST READING YOUR EXPERIENCES OF OFSTED, I GOT MY FIRST INSPECTION AFTER ONLY CHILDMINDING FOR 6 WEEKS! THEY INSISTED ON COMING AS I HAD BEEN REGISTERED FOR ABOUT 3MONTHS BEFORE I ACTUALLY STARTED CHILDMINDING. I GOT A SATISFACTORY BUT GOOD IN SOME AREAS. HER REASONS WERE QUITE PICKY TOO. I THINK THEY WORRY FAR TOO MUCH ABOUT THE WRONG THINGS!

Hi bmx, just be yourself & double check your safety equipment is in place as you would normally

Some things I concentrated on: made sure I was organised, all paperwork was up to date & in order; made sure all policies/info about my setting in my folder; double checked all safety equipment in place as I would normally; offered plenty of drinks to LO's as usual (I thought I might forget as I was so nervous!) oh & offered the inspector a coffee too, just made sure she didn't leave hot drink on floor beside her for LO to burn herself on! that's all I can think of for now
