CM Club - filling out self assessment help please!

SO I've finally finished last years accounts (don't ask) and my friend has told me you only need to fill in 3 lines. Uh, which three please, as the form is like a billion pages?

Have you got a short self assessment or a long one

Umm I don't know, how would I know?

It feels so very strange to have an account of my earnings as a self employed person (ie every penny earnt is MINE from entirely MY work) and while I think my expenses have brought my earnings down to an amount sensible for being taxed ( ) I do look sadly on that amount as it's not that big!

hold on is a self assessment a tax return? My form says its a tax return

If you look at the selfemployment assessment page there should be a note about short/long self assessments?
