dd not settling with c/m - do I stick??

dd (7 mths) has been (p/t) with c/m for over 6 weeks now. And still screams most of time she's there. We're currently trying an hour a day to try & settle her in, but with no obvious improvement.

Do I keep trying, on the basis that she's likely to kick off with anyone, or do some babies take against a particular (lovely!) c/m for no obvious reason???

Also, if you were said c/m, would you be offended/flattered if I asked you to recommend someone else??

I have had this situation twice each time I have spoken to the parents to discuss how best to settle the child in

Is she calm and reassuring? or is she asking you for advise?

She's at the 'don't know what else to try' stage, I think. She seems reasonably calm about it, but doesn't have any other ideas on what else could help (1 hr/day was her suggestion) She tends to call me once she's been yelling for a while & I come & pick dd up, as it tends to upset the other mindees...which I have been really happy with, but my work commitments are increasing, and obviously, not a long term soln!

As a childminder I would say sit down with CM and discuss it, maybe over coffee on a day when you can stay. It may be that LO will cry if left with anyone so changing her may not solve your problems.

Perhaps she could have a special toy at the childminders that she can cuddle.

I had a LO who screamed the house down from as soon as he SAW mum leave, we sorted it in the end by him not "seeing" mum leave. She said her goodbyes, we had a chat then we went off to find the biscuit tin and mum left and Lo was fine.
