U should demand you need the money
Its touch they havent been paid etc
U have the contract with parents not tax credits
when I had a cm for my ds i paid our CM from our wages and lived off tax credits money
Id never had dreamt of not paying even if tax credits hadnt paid me!

I had one parent that kept dropping her hours cos tax credits kept reducing her benefit. Of course every time she dropped her hours they kept on reducing her income. Vicious cycle & she eventually left.

IMO the idea is that the parents should pay you on time & IF eligible get reimbursed from tax credits. Some parents don't seem to realise how difficult it is to pay our bills when they keep paying late. If you don't already, introduce a late payment fee on future contracts. £5 per day including holidays & weekends until the arrears are paid or you are happy they are keeping to a payment agreement.

i always pay my cm whether tax credits have messed me about of not - i'd be annoyed if my employer didn't pay me and it's the same thing
