I once won in the small claims court, over a different sort of dispute. Its pot luck if you get the money or not. I did, but the person I sued was settled and owned property, so couldnt just disappear.

If the judgement goes in your favour, beware of tricks like writing to the court and telling them that they have paid the debt, when they havent.

Hope you didnt forget to claim for interest, and for the postage stamp

The interest used to be above inflation.

You can do a bit of research yourself, find which car is theirs (the one parked on their drive at nights perhaps? five quid to the dvla gets you the name of the owner I believe) - then you just have to lead the court bailiff to it.

I built a website for another childminder last year, worked through the night to get it done in a couple of days as she was desperate. Finished it and she disappeared. Found out she became full so thought she'd save the money!! Did small claims thing online and added the fee to the debt. She paid immediately after that

Good luck!
