Anyone had this experience before, completely forgot to pay my subscription and received a letter from Ofsted with intention to close me down Blush

I paid late, and it was OK. Call them and explain that you forgot and they should be able to sort it out.

Ring. Pay. Ask to set up a direct debit.

Have you been issued with a NOI (Notice of Intention) if so that is a legal document and you need to act quickly to stop the de-reg process.

Pay online today. Keep a print/pdf of the payment reference.
On Monday call the fees team and tell them you have been issued a NOI for non-payment, you have now paid and you would like to know what happens next.
With luck they will be able to cancel the legal process.
The NOI itself may give details on it how to respond. If it does then put in an objection to the deregistration. That will stall the process and give Ofsted time to sort it out.

De-reg for non-payment of fee is not a disqualification event, so if the worst happens you can reapply for registration. Hopefully that will not be necessary.

Ofsted use to have guidance on this, doc ref 100166. Alas I can not find it online anywhere.

Try not worry. Pay the bill now and call them on Monday. Do not delay, every day counts as the legal process has been started once a NOI has been issued.

In the past you used to have 3 months to pay up before you had to go through the whole process again.
