I don't what it's called but last year I seem to remember we were allowed 7 or 8 thousands non taxable ?? How much it is this year ??

Not sure but they work it out for you when you have completed the form-you just need to know income and expenses. It wasn't too bad except for the wording of the questions.

Rates and Allowances - 2013/14

Personal allowance £9440

Does not make a difference though when completing self assessment to my knowledge, as that asks about turnover, expenses, profit.

Thank you !!!

When you do the return the personal allowance should be deducted automatically

atticusclaw · 28/01/2015 22:51

As others have said you don't need to know this. It calculates automatically.

Incidentally, I only did DH's return yesterday.
