Au pairs - skype chats now what?

How do I decided?! I've chatted to a few on Skype and have 3 who from a 30 min chat on Skype I got a good feel for. But how do I choose on the basis of that?? My plan was to do a follow up with my husband and maybe introduce the kids on Skype to get his opinion but Is there anything else I should be doing? It feels hard to go on gut instinct for someone I am inviting into our home! Help!

Oh madrigals. The hardest ap we've had did four days with us! Seemed fine at the time, has not gone great. Still scratching our heads at what we missed. My guess is that with the other au pair there she didn't get a real feel fir what going the job slobs would be like and we under appreciated how much our AP was maybe covering for her.
