Hi, I am thinking of leaving my DS with a childminder but have no idea of the cost or what I should look for when looking for a suitable minder does anyone have any advise?

I pay £2 per hour, but this is in the back of beyond in Rural NI!

Depends where you are. I pay £3/hour in West Yorks for afterschool. But full days are £2.60/hour.

Hi

I'm a CM and I charge £3.00 - £3.15 per/hour. This is generally what you'll pay except London where they charge £5 per hour.

thanks everyone thats very helpful I have my DS in a leapfrog nursey at the moment and I am very disappointed in the service i pay £27 for a morning session so 6.75 per hour and i pick him up really dirty dried snot on his face as well as half his lunch it makes me think if they cant be bothered to clean his face what else are they not doing I have always been a bit worried about using a childminder after watching things on the t.v but i now think maybe it is the better option !
