Hello everybody!
A nice and calm, Finnish Nanny is searching for a sympathetic hostfamily in London. I'm a 42 year old teacher, taking 1 year off from my work in Finland, in order to improve my language skills abroad. I'm working now in Paris as a Nanny until Christmas and in the spring I would like to move to London. I prefer working as a live-out Nanny in an English-speaking family. I would be very grateful if you could give me any advice how to find a hostfamily and a room in London. I could start in January (3rd week) and ideally I would stay for 3-4 months. With kind regards, Katariina ([email protected])

I think you would struggle to find a nanny job last 3-4 months. Maybe an au pair position? Are you a qualified nanny? You would need to ring some agencys up and maybe could get some temp work.

Yes I would agree - register with agencies for emergency nanny work. Unlikely people will want to go through the hassle of employing someone for just 3-4m.

Gumtree is your bed bet for both rooms and nanny position, though I agree I think you'll struggle to find something so short term.

I also don't think you have enough nanny experience to register as a nanny through most agencies as they want min 2 years experience.

I'd also suggest au pairing for a few months.

Thank you for your advice!
