where abouts do you live. From the sounds of things every area does it slightly different. In Croydon, you contact the CIS ( children's information service) and they send you out an informatiion pack with questionaire and a form to complete. you then go tro a prep workshop where they discuss the overall aspect of being a childminder and give you the ofsted forms. then a course- at the end of the course you send off the ofsted forms and wait for them to contact you for a visit. By that time your house should be child proof and all business aspects fairly sorted. Ofsted visit you and if there's nothing more for you to do then they send out your cert and your registered. Long process but worth it!!!!!

Goldfinger pretty much has it covered

But in some areas you can get the form & send it off before doing the course

Remember it is a long process about 6m on average (so can take up to a year)
