Big argument at the dinner table
We have lots of rules
No dinner no pudding
If pudding is fruit & cream/custard/ice cream then no & cream/custard/ice cream - unless fruit is eaten (serving in separate bowls if they are faddy about it
So today child a, with major eating disorder based around not eating mixed up stuff. Offered beans & toast/cheesy toast - picked toast & beans (perfectly acceptable)
Helper wanted syrup sponge for pud so I had started to make it......got to the cupboard and there was no syrup so substituted apple sauce. (so this was syrup sponge with no syrup rather than a method to get them eating fruit iyswim)
I served up the sponge for the ones who had eaten (child a eats a little later as he is at school pt) and we decided to add ice cream as it was so hot.
A finishes & I offer the apple sponge - he asks if it is mixed up & I say a bit. So A says no thank you (very politely)
Then I ask helper to give him some ice cream as he had eaten it all up. She said no (because he wouldn't eat the apple) that's unfair isn't it - as it wasn't a fruit pudding (it was supposed to be syrup!!)
