I think you should get in touch with her mum - she really doesn't sound well.

dmo · 29/09/2006 10:34

i had a little girl who had been sick this morning come to me for before school care
(mum didnt say about the sick) anyway she threw up again about 8am so i phoned mum
i am still waiting for mum to arrive says she cant get out of work
i had the morning off this morning and planned to do something but now am stuck at home with a sick child

StrawberryMoon · 29/09/2006 10:39

she is also coughing lots now(maybe flegm(sp))
tried to ring her mum, but shes at hosp today(visiting for course) so although phone was on she didnt answer??

runny noses & sneezing I'll put up with - but sick is something different. I had one child arrive and be sick after eating 5 bowls of custard for breakfast at home. I called mum to collect as I couldn't prove he wasn't a risk to the other mindies.

Even if there are no other mindies present you have to protect yourself - if you get sick there's loss of income & having to tell all the parents they've got no childminder for a day/week.

dmo · 29/09/2006 12:15

have u no more contacts for the child
can anybody else pick the child up

StrawberryMoon · 29/09/2006 13:11

i have two other contacts but they are about 40 minutes drive away as theyre not from round here.

managed to get in touch with her mum, who came as soon as the bus would carry her..took child with me to collect dd and asked adv of other cm there, she said she should go home so i did right

walked around park trying to help her sleep after mum asked me to give her 5 ml of calpol, but she wouldnt drop off..she looked so unwell bless her, but mum said she did sneeze a few times this morning but nothing else??

so hopefully she will have some rest this weekend and be better by next week!

felt awful telling the mum to come home but like youve all said i can t risk my dd or myself!
