Struggling to find a childminder

Where else can I find childminders details other than the CIS? None of the childminders on there seem to pick up from the school ds is going to or if they don't state a school and I phone them they seem to have stopped childminding

Have you tried the school? Ask the teacher from the class ds will be in if anyone else goes to a childminder- if so you can contact them and ask if they will have a vacancy.

We got our cm by recommendation from another cm who didn't have a vacancy.

I have asked the school but all they could suggest was the after school club at another school but ds doesn't seem to be getting on with it

where are you, maybe one of the cm's on MN lives nearby?

The School is in Eastleigh, Hampshire

NCMA sometimes have registerd childminder lists.

The school gates by asking around.
Yellow pages - occasionally they do advertise here.

r there cm's on cis that state pickups from other schools local to the one you need? if so - phone them - they will have their own network so might know someone.

not all cm's are on cis (i.e only just registered - don't appear) - so place a wanted add in the local shop window (to school) - you might be lucky.

who did you speak to at school - have found the secretary has better info to the teachers.

Did you phone your CIS or use the website? Some childminders opt out of being put on the web list, so you can sometimes get a few more contacts by phoning up.

Can you put a note up on the school notice board?

A while ago I phoned CIS and they sent me out a list but I have also looked on the website. all of the cm's on there seem to have been updated quite a while ago.
I have asked the School's receptionist and she is going to ask around for me
