where else to advertise for a nanny?

I've done childcare.co.uk and the two local agencies that were on the ANA website, I'm a bit sceptical of gumtree I don't want to be meeting up with a load of random wierdos. Is there anywhere else I can advertise? I need someone ASAP

Gumtree can be useful but you have to be really direct in the advert.

eg: only applicants with new baby/min period of experience/drivers licence/ofsted reg will be considered or responded to.

Tinies agency is good but like all agencies the fees are pretty high. Might get you over the interim issue though on a temp basis?

Mumsnet Local?

nannynick · 16/09/2014 14:24

Nannyjob.co.uk though the agencies may have already listed your job there.

Are you being proactive, contacting local people on childcare.co.uk ? Don't just wait for them to contact you. You may not get a reply, they may already have a job but they may know someone looking.

Have you tried Greycoats ? www.greycoatlumleys.co.uk/

smellysocksandchickenpox · 16/09/2014 14:45

Yeah I've sent loads of messages on childcare.co.uk The only potential interview coming from that is a girl who isn't registered, I have said I expect it to at least be in the pipeline and she still wants to interview but I'm not convinced she understands what is needed. Most of the others who have profiles up there have already found jobs.

With gumtree I'm just concerned about meeting people for interview from there given experiences house hunting (men who don't even have houses claiming to be landlords etc) and the strange people who turn up when you're trying to sell stuff via there

Is greycoats mostly london? they don't seem to have many on there?
Have paid up to nannyjobs too but it's such an un user friendly site am having trouble filtering out the local CVs, my profile is up there anyway

Are agencies getting any suitable candidates or is there a reason why it is hard to fill your position?

katymason01 · 16/09/2014 18:31

Where r u based?

katymason01 · 16/09/2014 18:34

Care.uk.com
Some recruitment agencies do it.
Local paper/ job centre but probably same issue as gumtree.

I recommend the agency www.kidsmatter.uk.com based in east Midlands but cover all of uk and worldwide.

Try local netmums site as well

I found my job on care.uk

sleeplessinderbyshire · 17/09/2014 22:03

we've found both our (great) nannies on gumtree. everyone else I know with a nanny has found theirs there too. I think if you're somewhere that nannies are not that common you'll not get overrun with wierdos
