Nanny Costs South London

Hi I am returning to work in Oct full time and we are looking to get a nanny as my husband is working away a lot and we need the extra support a nanny will provide. The whole net/gross thing really confuses me as I ultimately need to work out the total cost of a nanny not the net. I've used the calculators but I just wondered what other people are paying their nannies in this area? £10 net an hour works out so high its a little scary as it makes me question if it is worth me returning to work for the amount I will have left over. Also what is an acceptable rate to offer a nanny who brings her own child? Thanks

We have a nwoc. She gets 9.60 gross per hour FT with us. She was getting 10 net before baby (so she tells us...). We are London zone 5.
