The perfect Aupair - Happy Days or what......

Hi all
Not been here in an age but just an update on where we are!

After all the difficulties with live in nanny and literally 18 stressful months without proper childcare and holding down a business and all that went before it - I think we have nailed things on the head.

German AuP is here almost 6 weeks on a 12 month contract and she is a gem. Household duties not 100% but I have a cleaner three times a week so the other days don't matter too much.

We have also compromised on the fact that some days I need her to work longer than her 5 hours a day (2 hours in morning on basic duties and 3 when kids come home)but some days she will only work 2-3 hours and will help me for extra hours if needed.

Major stresses off my mind - lunch boxes organised, school uniforms organised, small ironing done (ex bed sheets), vegetables prepared for dinner in evening, tidy house in evening, kids ready for extra circular activities and Homework done and just needs signng off, and babysitting every other weekend.

She is starting language school next week even though her English is fantastic, compared to Polish girl I took on a few months ago who could only nod or laugh and didn't understand a word the kids said.

And our AP is off to meet another AP on Saturday.

Continued Happy Days

Lucky you! Does she have a friend who is looking for work in North London?!
