He sits on an airbag??? Error maybe? Should it be car seat?

If sitting in the front he should not have the air bag on if it is possible to deactivate.

If you can't deactivate and there is nowhere else for him to sit, then the front seat should be pushed back as far as possible.

A booster seat.

is there no room for him in the back? if not is he the heaviest (not necesarily oldest) child in the car as it is them who should go in the front.

it should go :

smallest baby in middle seat,
then the other rear seats,
then the front seat.

i also second what hulababy said.

That air bag should be off or he shouldn't be there. Air bags can kill small adults! (let alone 6 year olds)

I agree with uwila, a child should NEVER sit in a front passenger seat that has an airbag fitted. The only solution is to deactivate the airbag or not use the front passenger seat.

I agree. When I collected in my other car, I only could have 2 mindees in the back and that was it because my car had an airbag. It's something like aged 11 when they can sit in the front with one I THINK (not totally sure as it doesn't affect me now but will check everything again when I get my 7 seater which will probably have an airbag)

Presume the 6 year old is on a booster seat with a back?

I am aware that it is around 12 years old that a child should not have an air bag,but wasnt sure if the booster seat made a difference to this as it makes the child the same height as an adult.I can understand if its a regular car seat with a child under 4ish but like I said he is my height when on booster seat.Just want to be 100%sure.My airbag is ALWAYS deactivated. He hasnt been in the front with the air bag on.I did read somewhere that you should check wtiht the manafacturer about whether to have airbag on or off.Thanx for help.

Hi again. It's the force of the airbag coming out that is dangerous so afraid air bag will still need to be switched off. My 4x4 manual says that they can go in the front with the seat as far back as possible (which is actually quite far back) but this was written a long time ago as the car is an S reg. New laws are in place now and we're more aware of the danger of airbags which is why I've never put them in the front of the 4x4 (mine can't be deactivated).

To clarify as didn't make clear - it's the impact that could crush a child's body. It's weight that is more important than height I believe

Thank you looneytune
