Hi,
Could anyone tell me whether I can recruit an au pair from Croatia to come to work in the UK?
I have had so much conflicting info and i need to know very urgently. The home office says Thank you for your email.

'There is no provision in the rules for Croatian nationals to come to the UK for the purposes of employment as an Au Pair'.

Can anyone clarify what that means, can I or cannot I employ a Croatian au pair?

It clearly says that you cannot legally employ an au pair from Croatia surely?

My reading of that is that you can't employ one, seems pretty clear

www.gov.uk/croatian-national/overview

Looks like they need a sponsor. Think only some employers can be sponsors.

You only need to write an invitation letter stating her duties and hours and basically a little bit about your family, sign it and fax it to the au pair. She has to sign it too and show it to the border agency and that's it.
