My cm does school pick ups in her car. My dd is 2 and cm has recently taken on a six month old baby. I am a bit concerned about the car seats cm is using. My dd normally sits in one of those forward facing seats, but noticed in cm's car the other day that they were a couple of those wedgy seats plus dds seat. Am a bit concerned that the she is putting the baby in dd seat and sitting my dd in a wedgy seat. I thought those seats were for older chidren - is anyone up on car seats? thanks

Shre certainly should't be using your seat for another child. She should have car seats to fit her car, either provided by herself ( as I do, my own children are 19 & 20) or by the parents. I also renew mine every threeyears or so.

There are lots of leaflets out on the new regulations ddue to cocme into forece on the 18th Sept. Pop into halfords, mothercare etc and pick one up.

Do you mean a booster seat by wedgie? If so, it must have a back to it, and they aren't normally appropriate until 3 upwards, and then it is best to go on weight. I have a tiny 3 year old and she is going to be in a frint facing for ages yet, The 4 year old is too!

lookhere for the new laws.

Will the baby not go in one of the rear facing carry seats that go in and out of the car? It wouldn't necessarily always be in the car if she's carried the baby into the house in it. A 6 month old is too young to be in a forward facing seat anyway.

Just a thought.

Good point. Is the front seat used up by other seats? Just wondered as when my mindees were little, I used to put them in the front with me (no airbag) but when we were in the house, the actual seat would be in the house too (or in the boot if I hadn't yet used it that day)

Thanks for replys - I saw a wedgy (booster seat - no back) in the front seat and the car seat dd sits in in the back. I don't want to jump to conclsions - but I could not see where space for a rear facing removable seat would have gone as the bigger children would have been sitting in the back. I will have to talk to her as I want to confirm what is going on - I don't want to sound like I don't trust her - but am getting anxious about it - and also concerned about the baby.
