New online Care Inspectorate form (childminders)

Hello!

I think I am almost ready to submit my registration form to become a childminder however, I am a little concerned by the lack of info on my application form - under my employment info I can literally for in 4/5 words in the job description section. This seems ridiculous!

Its the same on other parts of the form - is it expected that I will attach additional sheets or do I just submit it as it is?

Also, I cant seem to attach my policies - do I send them a paper copy?

TIA for any info :)

Not in Scotland, can't seem to access the form.

Looking at guidance it says: "Someone who intends to provide a childminding service alone is an ‘individual applicant’ and needs to complete Parts 1 and 4 of the registration application form."

So my first query is what Part of the form is the employment info?

If that is in Part 1 or Part 4, then think about why are they wanting to know past employment history. I would suspect they are looking for past experience within the childcare sector, which for many may not be relevant as this may be the first time of working within the sector, or indeed working at all.

If you know where the paper form can be viewed online, please do provide a link so I can take a look at it.

Are you a member of Scottish Childminding Association? If not, then perhaps consider membership (they provide liability insurance which you will need for childminding), local support groups. Helpline is open 10-6 Mon-Fri, give them a call see what help they can give over the phone and what local support is in your area.

There are some childminders in Scotland who post on here, so with luck someone will be along with some advice. Meanwhile hope the above is of some use.

Thanks! Yeah will call them on Monday - my experience is relevent, it just doesnt give you any space to explain your role - I looked again earlier and I managed to fit in 6 words! The form is in adobe and you need to log in to access it. It just seems too basic!
