Childminder's Club: 5 a day (kinda pathetic)

I was asked by my network co-ordinator whether the children had 5 a day?

I worked it out & for the children with me F/T today & yesterday they had 7 & 8 a day respectively!!!!!

I am really sad I know - but I was so chuffed about that

So (this is the really sad bit) I have made a laminated poster with "yesterday we served XXXXX portions of Fruit & Vegetables" with a gap to write in a number with a dry wipe pen

Isn't that pathetic?

well done. hopefully you're setting them up for a lifetime of enjoying fruit & veg, so I think you're absolutely right to feel proud.

Fruit juice at breakfast
Fruit (or even 2 fruit) for snack
Yesterday was pasta with tuna & sweetcorn
Pudding stewed plums
Mince with carrot swede & onion

Today was
Veg soup (onion, peppers, carrots, turnip & celery - blended)
Stewed apple
Cabbage with tea

I do menu plans that make it easier

Well done, Katymac, I too have something similar, a chart with what we have eaten.

Today

Snack - Dried apricots, apple, banana, grapes

Lunch - Lamb casserole, carrots, broccoli, peas ans mashed potato.
Fresh figs ( bought a whole tray in Costco, they are lovely and plump with marscapone cheese on the side to dip in!

I also have them all on water only, the easiest way to do it was just put a jug and cups out and they pur for themselves. The first few days was a novelty and they were weeing every 5 minutes!

Even the 2 year old can pur her own drink without spilling.

I have my inspection on monday
