Can anyone recommend a nanny agency they've used covering the Surrey area? Many thanks...

Surry is a rather big county, and typically nanny agencies will cover quite a small area. If you are in my area (Surrey/Berkshire border) then the ones I found good were:

The Nanny Agency (Churt)- [email protected]
Playtime - www.playtimenannies.co.uk
Hatties - www.hattiesnannies.co.uk

However, do remember that you don't need to use an agency. There are many tips in this section on how to hire a nanny without going through an agency.

i just went through the process of looking for a nanny - but i live in london. However, i found that going on www.greatcare.co.uk and www.nannyjob.co.uk presented you with a list of candidates that you may find appropriate for you. Registration on these sites are c£10-20 for a month, i think = sure worth the money considering am just about to write a £2500 cheque to an agency. You contact them yourself -and clearly check the refs yourself - but you would do that anyway even if you used an agency. Hope that helps and good luck with the search.

Terrific - thanks for the tips.

www.nannyjob.co.uk and gumtree.com. (they should give me commission for all the times I've typed these addresses).

If cost is an issue, I would try these before embarking on the agencies. They often post their ads on these websites anyway.
