Hi

I’m in the process of looking for an au pair. Have had lots of generic messages from interested applicants on Au PairWorld but now need to find out more about those that look promising.

I was going to send them a list of questions and would be grateful for any suggestions. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

  1. What do you like about looking after children?
  2. What’s the worst thing about looking after children?
  3. Which three words would you use to describe your personality?
  4. Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
  5. How would you deal with naughty children?
  6. How would you deal with unhappy children?
  7. Why do you want to come to the UK?
  8. What do you hope to get out of your year?
  9. Are you happy to be living out in the countryside?
  10. Are you willing to help with housework, eg. emptying bins, unpacking dishwasher, tidying up?
  11. Are you willing to help with preparing the kids meals?
  12. Do you have any specific dietary requirements?
  13. Do you have any current plans for which you will need to take time off, eg. booked holidays, etc?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
