Advice/experiences on Nanny shares please

I'm just looking for people's experiences of a nanny share please.

I've been working part time for a family for nearly 11 months with their 2 daughters, 4yrs7mths & 2yrs2mths. I get on brilliantly with the parents & children & even both sets of grandparents, I definitely feel like one of the family. I currently do 3 days a week but this will increase to 3.5 days in September when the oldest goes to school & they take the youngest out of nursery (they currently do 1 day at nursery).

They approached me yesterday to ask if I was willing to do a nanny share with friends of theirs 1 day a week from September. The little girl will be 2yrs4mths, she's 10 weeks younger than my current charge.

I've got no worries about it and am quite excited about the new challenge but just wanted some advice/experiences on dealing with 2 families & how it works. My employers are new to nannying, I'm their first.

Sorry this has turned out quite long, Thank you if you made it this far.

This happened to me with my bosses next door neighbour who also happened to be their colleague. I get a higher rate when I have them all together.

Its worked quite well for us, obviously you need to be aware of familial differences the new boss doesn't like snacks/TV so we avoid those when we have that little one.

It makes life harder in terms of getting around in the car but with three you should be okay?

Thank you for replying. We haven't really spoken about how things would work out, yesterday was pretty manic at work so they just wanted to ask mW to think about it over the weekend & we'll talk about it properly on Monday.

My only big issue is the car, I only have a fiesta but for the most part I'll only have 2 its just before & after school I'll have 3 & the school is only 10-15 minute walk so easily do-able with a double buggy.

It becomes more of a problem if the older one starts clubs in a few years. But my employers had no problem with me putting the eldest in the front seat of my car.

Thanks juneybean. I spoke to my employers today & we're going to go ahead with it. I asked about the car seats & they are happy for their eldest to sit in the front seat in her car seat. We are arranging for me to meet the other family in the next couple of weeks.
