hi evesmama
basically they will want to hear that you are going to go on birth to 3 course in the very near future do you have any info at all on 0-3

Katymac · 28/08/2006 21:19

So you are going to get on a B23 course...you will book it asap

You will phone (or have already phoned) the people to get a copy of the pack

If my local network has any courses or training on B23

I will be looking stuff up on the internet and will also look at the Early Year Foundation stuff that is new and not yet in place (look on the NCMA site)

thing is ive tried for months to get on a course to no avail!

so is it just what i plan to do with my mindees under 3, how i will help/encourage and educate them??

look here

Print it off & read it

There is a link for the pack on that page (then you can say you have ordered it)

I have been on a course, but the one thing that I came out of the course with was the knowledge that I have the freedom to interpret and implement anything I like to show my own understanding of B23.
As long as you can show Ofsted common sense intuitive knowledge of how babies should be treated, and show that you can observe them and encourage them in their own natural development by providing suitable activities you wil be fine.
I use a picture diary with a simple, free narrative observation after every day of care and it helps to know the jargon ie what the aspects and components are called. Do a search for that, but use your own imagination and trust yourself when it comes to interpreting it all.
I have to say that I hate anything tick boxed.

If you've got the B23 pack from Surestart, stick the poster up - they like that . I've been trying for ages too to get on the course and no luck yet, it's really annoying but my inspector was fine about it and was happy I was trying to get on the course!

Good luck for Thursday!

katymac..was on that site as you were typing!..its great, got some really good print out and as well as ordering proper copy of BT3, ive printed one off incase it doesnt get here on time!

gooseegg, i thought that was all it was, just worried when told OFSTED would be asking about it!
