Hi

I'm presuming you mean you want examples of some websites.

Here's my own childminding website and if you want some other idea's, have a look at my website business website and click on portfolio. There are a few childminder sites on there. Please ignore the red crosses etc. I was in the middle of doing some updates then went on holiday and haven't got round to finishing it.

HTH

StrawberryMoon · 27/08/2006 21:47

looneytune..your wensites is great!..i bet youve got people knocking your door down looking at it al and those fab pictures..well done..how did you set up that website? did it cost a lot?

looneytune · 27/08/2006 21:53

Cheers, I have got most of my business from it actually but now I'm more established, word of mouth is working well too.

Didn't cost me anything as I'm a website designer in my spare (haha to having any! ) time. To be honest, I only do childminder sites at the moment due to not having enough time to do others with the hours I work now.

gooseegg · 27/08/2006 21:58

EvesMama, I am too busy with moving house to be devoting time to websites right now, but if you are after some unique ideas please have a look at these I have made for other minders Here

StrawberryMoon · 28/08/2006 21:11

thanks Loonytune, so would/do you design them for others now?

gooseegg...those are fab!
very eyecatching and proffesional!..when will you have moved by??

looneytune · 28/08/2006 21:35

Yes I do these for other childminders, rates are on my - website

You need to click the childminders page as I do special rates for childminders.

As I said before, please ignore the red crosses that appear on my site, I'm in the process of maintaining the images etc. Hoping to sort this during the week as I've got this week off

My contact details on on there so feel free to send an email or call if you have any questions.

gooseegg · 28/08/2006 21:39

Thanks StrawberryMoon,
I love the creativity of doing them.
Will be out of action for a while yet though as our completion is booked for this Fri, and then lots of getting straight to do.
I'll probably be in line for my own next inspection then.
Try freewebs or geocites to build your own free site. That's how I started out - they can be very effective.

looneytune · 28/08/2006 21:43

Good idea to try those out actually!!

Good luck with the move gooseegg! We're moving too (at some point!) but it's very early days and the chain isn't closed yet. Is it really really stressful with childminding too? I've never moved before and am already panicking about it all already!

StrawberryMoon · 28/08/2006 21:51

thanks loonytune will have a look just now and thanks gooseegg, for replies on all threads
good luck with the move, weve just done it..so i know how stressed you must be

gooseegg · 28/08/2006 21:54

Yes, I was panicking lots too.
The lead up to exchange was a comedy of errors and brought me out in spots
Ofsted were a complete pain when I phoned them and insisted on me giving them the details of my new premises (but as we hadn't even exchanged I refused). They wouldn't put me through to the inspection dept. and the bloke on the end of the phone told me he would let them know I was planning on moving and that I should be 'reminded' that I would NOT be allowed to mind on new premises without another inspection.
Eventually, by going through my local childminding association, I spoke to a lovely local inspector who put me completely at ease and said that as I had had a good previous inspection and had no complaints and was not asking for any variations to my registration then I could do my own risk assessment and would not need a visit at my new premises before being allowed to resume minding. Big relief.
But we have boxes everywhere now and I am having to take all the children out on day trips as their toys are all packed away!!
Good luck to you too - I know just how you must be feeling.
I won't be moving again in a hurry.

looneytune · 28/08/2006 22:00

Ofsted are a nightmare aren't they. Parents would be very annoyed if I couldn't have their little ones because of moving house. I'll be prepared for some grief then - thanks for the warning .

Hope it all goes smoothly. I'm very worried about the boxes too as my house is very small so god knows where the boxes will be - GULP!
