Hello,

My apologies now for long thread but really concered!!!

I am a completly confused first time mum, due to go back to work after xmas (3rd of January) Has any one got any recomendations of childcare solutions in the above areas. I will need a fulltime placement but can not work out what will be best childminder, nursery or live out nanny.

I have looked at a few nurseries and only one i would really be happy with as the others were quiet large and feel dtr may get lost in amongst all the other children.

If you have experience of nannies can you let me know how you recruiterd them

Thanks in anticipation of your advice
Kerrie

hmmm

I didn't like nurseries (personal decision .. just didn't get a good gut feel and it felt wrong)

I called council early years department for a list of childminders and started going to see them until I found one who had a place and I liked

For a nanny you could use an agency (but will cost a few thousand in commission) or advertise .. look at nannyjobs.co.uk ... you have to interview them and check up on references and qualifications

Or you could put a notice up in local shops to see if any local parent would like to do a nannyshare then split the cost and do it together

good luck .. you just have to launch into it
