How do I find a (very) part time nanny?

I want a one day and one evening a week nanny. So one day would be 10-4 and one evening (of a different day) would be 6-10.30ish) so include bedtime. I have no idea how I find one. Any suggestions?

Have you looked at childcare.co.uk or findababysitter?

Concentrate on local things - advert in a village store/newsagents, school/church/community newsletter. Word of mouth - ask others if they know of anyone.

Internet sites may be useful as many have local areas. Mumsnet Local, Netmums Local, Gumtree.com, Childcare.co.uk. If in a major city then more general places like NannyJob.co.uk might find someone.

Keep in mind that advertising costs money. Whilst some websites appear to be free, a free ad may not get you much. Consider upgrading to a paid ad, and/or paid features such as ability to message others. Be proactive, search sites for people advertising childcare services, get in touch with everyone local to you giving them details of the job and asking if they would be interested in discussing. Some sites like Childcare.co.uk let you search for people using Postcode radius and then to list by last-login date, so you can see who has recently been on the site, rather than just seeing who is local to you, some may not have logged in for years.

Remember to agree a gross salary and to register as an employer if paying over the threshold (£111 a week I think it may be for 2014/15) or if the person has other income, such as from another job.

I would see if a mum local to you wants to earn some
MONey - possibly one with older children at school /nursery for the one day job

Obv you need to employ them Properly and with the evening to get a regular babysitter / nanny who wants a regular bs job once a week
