I guess it depends why.

we gave notice to our nanny in March because my husband had decided to give up work to be a SAHD for a few years. It WAS hard because we really liked the nanny, but we wern't critisising her IFKWIM. ended with a hug and the notice worked with no hard feelings . She still babysits for us.

not easy but not the end of the world!

i'm a c/m and had to give notice to a child as it wasnt working out
didnt feel good but had to be done

how long have you had the child?
i had had my child for 6 mths but he annoyed the other children and made them upset
