Childminders - do you see them as 'professionals?'

Hi all,

I'm a mum and a childminder. I am currently studying and doing an essay on what it means to be professional as a childminder? I just wondered if I could pick your brains as other mums. Do you view your childminder as a 'professional?' If so why?
Thanks in advance for any replies Smile

I think to be considered professional, it is all about the attitude to the children in your care, the parent, the paperwork involved and the activities done with the children.

my current childminder is highly knowledgeable about all stages of developments and all of that and the way she spurts it all out sounds great!

I could take it to the extreme and say one childminder had a 'uniform' which was a polo shirt and a hoody. This really looked great. I dodn't go with her though...
