DD - combination of CM and MiL

My MiL looks after my DD ( 2 years old). but I thought that once a week my MiL would need some time to herself - would 1 day with CM work? My DD is quite clingy so just wondering whether anybody has experience such a set up?

It can work, but it's harder for a child to settle when they only come one day a week.

Can be more difficult to settle (in either place) if GPs and CM have a very different "parenting" style, or if the daily routines are very different (for example if child is allowed TV or sweets at GPs but not at CM). Child's environment at GPs is another element to consider when trying to settle in at CM.

I would suggest 2 sessions with CM whether they are half days or 1 1/2 days simply as it helps child settle into both settings quicker.
