hi there. i am registerd for 4 under 5s with an assistant and now a parent has asked me to look after 2 year old sibling who is 9 months. it wont be regular just every now and again. ofsted say i have to write giveing details and hows,whys and where fors. i am usless at writing letters so wondered if anyone could help

Oh my goodness - will they do that? - mind you just noticed you said you have an assistant.

When I was applying for a variation for 2 under 1's I called and they sent me a letter saying I needed to wrtie back saying exactly how I could manage to care for them all at the same time - both physically, practically and emotionally - for them I mean
I wrote loads about sufficient equipment - how safety was always my priority and how I would deal with them both needing me at once etc and how I could manage the older ones in the setting too.

If you have an assistant, I would have thought you would be allowed to have maximum of 6 under 5s anyway (if your house is big enough). I've got this on my registration with my dh and dds, but only use them for emergency cover or occasionally in school holidays.
