So I have a new after schoolie starting today.
I would like to set some house rules.

havent had to do this before, however watching his behavior in the playground before and after school, for a few weeks now, I think I might need them.
My minded children are
just turned 7, yr 2
Two, soon to be 8 yr olds, yr3 one of which is the new child
and a soon to be 9 yr old yr4

I have no EYFS children by the way.

can anyone give me some ideas..
ie no going upstairs (we have a down stairs toilet)

thanx in advance Smile Smile

When I had similar aged schoolies (all boys Shock) we made some up together which they really liked. No fighting of any sort (inc play fighting), no climbing on furniture, shoes off indoors, eating & drinking at the table, no rude words, be kind to each other & leave the toilet clean/wash your hands after use Grin

Have you heard of The Golden Rules? They can be used to cover everything Grin

My after school children made mine up. The only rule when making them was that they had to be positive.

ie

  • We walk in the house, but we can run in the garden.
  • Be considerate
  • We listen
  • Say please, thank you, pardon and sorry.
  • Negotiate: Talk, don't touch.
  • Feet on the floor. Bottoms on seats.

etc

Well 2 girls really I have a 11 1/2 yr old sister of the almost 9yr old, adhoc during the holidays, she started secondary school in September, and feels shes to old to come after school now Wink

Bottoms on chairs, feet on floor, we use that at Pre School..lol

we will all sit down later and have a 'chat' Smile
