Dealing with disagreements at work

I'm a nanny and something my boss said yesterday really upset me. I have now been trying to get to sleep for nearly 4 hours and am unable to and was wondering if it would be appropriate not to go in tomorrow if I am unable to sleep. I only have to drop off and collect so maybe go in the morning and suggest a temp for the afternoon.
Boss is aware that I am upset and want to talk

Sorry realise my title different from the thread - I was also going to ask specific advice but think I should speak to boss first.

Just really worried I'm not going to get any sleep - I'm so tired but also really upset

What did your boss say? Must be bad if you really can't sleep

But honestly if you only do before/after school then sleep durin the day if tired - so yes you need to go in

If nothing else you need to sort out what has happened or you won't be able to sleep Wednesday night

One bad nights sleep certainly won't stop you from working though obv be careful when driving

Sounds as though you could catch up with rest during the day, so I feel you do need to go in as scheduled.

Communicate with your boss by whatever method you usually use. Ideally find a time to have a chat about the situation. Clear things up so that you are not continuing to worry about things for days.

Thanks everyone - I went in and knew I had to really. It was just horrible last night when I had been trying for so long to get to sleep and was really tired but couldn't. I actually thought I wasn't going to sleep at all.

I don't really want to say what the problem is as haven't discussed with bosses yet and they might be on here or might be recognisable but hopefully it will be resolved

I got 3 hours sleep and will try to sleep more before collection but feel ok

I'm glad you went in to work. Parents with young children frequently have to go to work after only three hours sleep (my DH and I are proof of this). I doubt giving lack of sleep as a reason not to go to work would have gone down at all well with your boss and wouldn't have helped your situation at all. Hope you get to have a good chat about your issues with your boss quickly.

Glad you went in. Did bosses seem weird or normal?

Try and have a chat tonight or the same thing will happen tonight

I'm not working with bubs so plan to be asleep at 3am - hope you are too :)
