I thought that I'd be cheeky and post this seeing as I'm addicted to MN a regular.

I am looking for a new position starting January (possibly before if it is between school hours), part time, to fit around a before/after school position 3 days a week.

I'm Ofsted registered, DBS Checked, First Aid Trained, a BAPN Member and fully insured. I'm also a Scout Leader, previously with the Explorer Scout Section but I've recently switched to Scouts. I have worked with unique diets and am capable of sticking to strict guidelines in that respect.

I'm studying my CYPW Level 3 at the moment and I'm hoping to finish in the next three months, I'm just waiting for my final marks and visit to be sorted. Along with learning French and BSL, though I have only recently started learning both! I have an interest in learning Farsi too and a huge interest in language and it's development.

I have been a nanny for over 3 years and have worked in childcare on-and-off for 8 years in other settings (outdoor instructor, schools and nurseries and babysitting. I was also an Elf for Christmas 2010!)

In my current two jobs I work before and after school with a 6yo girl with autism three days a week (term time only) and with a nearly-3yo girl two days a week.

My previous job was with three children aged 8, 7 and 5 when I left (Sept 2013), the older two both had autism, the eldest was high functioning whilst the middle was low functioning and home educated so I cared primarily for him continuing his education at home (Son Rise). The other two attended the Steiner school so I'm well used to working within Steiner Principles as well.

I will be leaving my job with my 3yo at Christmas as the family have made me redundant.

I will be looking for 12+ hours work, preferably one long day on a Tuesday (this could be 8+ hours as I could then pick up work elsewhere on Friday mornings) or something between 9:30-2:30 Mon/Wed/Thurs.

I will happily consider any other work over 12 hours or mixing and matching hours around my current job which is before and after school Mon/Weds/Thurs.

Happy to start early mornings too.

I think it may be easier to find a new full time job and leave before/after school one :(

Hard to find a job with those hours as most parent need all day if working - unless try and find a mum who just needs a few hours to shop/have hair done/gym and friends

I don't know about that, there are a few going around but they are in high demand at the moment and the agency who advertises them is trying to keep me within SEN jobs at the moment it seems, which would make sense as there are probably loads of nannies going for the full time gigs. Lots of live in too but I really do not want to be doing that again unless it was short-term temping.

There do seem to be quite a few people who work part time from home for only the morning or four/five so I'm hoping that I could find something like that. I really don't want to give up my before/after school position, I have got other avenues to earn from but they are not ideal. Lots of ad-hoc families who use me occasionally, creche work in school hours for a few hours, temping at nurseries and whatnot, but I'd prefer to get another nannying job as it's more solid and I know that I will get the income.

If I were in Brighton then you'd be ideal, but I'm not so good luck!

Thanks Nom :)

You are not allowed to search jobs here. I did that once and they closed my account straight away.

ConfusedPixie · 05/11/2013 19:03

Regulars are allowed to search for the odd job, it says so up top. Non-regulars aren't allowed too. As I've been posting for over four years I think I qualify in the former category Wink
