Hi Nannies. Would you be interested in having nanny radio.Made by nannies for nannies. We would give advice and talk about interesting subjects. Any suggestions are more than welcome. Would this work?

Isn't there an Australian(?) one already you can get via the Internet?

Anything to spread information may be of help. However how would nannies know about the radio station and when would they get to listen? Many nannies work 50+ hours a week and have a life outside of work, so would need to find time to listen.

Getting intouch with nannies is incredibly hard, there are estimated to be over 100,000 in the UK yet few of them use forum sites like Mumsnet, Netmums, NannyJob or are members of associations like BAPN.

So the first challenge I see is how you actually tell nannies that something exists for them. You would need a huge marketing budget to even get just a small percentage of UK nannies, yet alone those throughout Europe, or the World.

A podcast could be a good idea, then they can listen to it when they like and it can be passed on to friends etc.

I think it's a great idea.. I never managed to make any nanny friends in my previous jobs as all the other people at the school gate were parents (who while very nice had little interest in adopting me into their coffee circle).

Perhaps you could spread the word through nanny agencies? They have masses of nannies on their books.. although there might have to be some incentive for them..
