Hello

I was just looking for some ideas for the 2 girls (3/4) I am leaving in a few months.
I have been with this family for 4 years and unfortunately due to financial circumstances for the family I will be leaving.

The last family I worked for I bought watches but the boys were older and they loved them, the girls I think are too young and have no interest at the moment in watches.

Money is a bit tight for me at the moment so buying any decent jewellery is out of the question.

I did think of going to a painting pottery place and getting hand prints on a plate and then giving that to them, but not too sure if the girls would appreciate it much.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved

Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

When I left jobs I would generally buy toys for the kids, just more than I would for Birthday/Christmas and I would give the parents a photo album.

I would choose a special book for each of them, something they will enjoy now, or some of your personal favourite children's classics for when they are older with a message from you written inside.

I am now thinking of a book set for the children to read when they are older, what are your opinions?

Classic book/ book set would be good, Beatrix potter/ Winnie the Pooh/wind in the willows/poetry anthology. Have a look at the book people. A piggy bank or box for treasures?

I made a kind of scrap book/photo album for the girls I looked after, which they adored. I also gave the younger one the DVD of Mary poppins as they didn't have it and it was topical.

Musical jewellery boxes - the ones with turning ballerinas.

They're about £10-13. A lovely au pair who was with us for a year bought each of my children one. She wrote in permanent pen underneath each one- a little personal message. They listen to and use them often - and like me to talk to them about her while they play with them. Soooo sweet.
