DreamGirly · 17/10/2013 13:09

For the last two years I've had my public liability insurance with NannyInsure, underwritten by Hayes Parsons. I've just received an email telling me that the relationship between nannyinsure and Hayes parsons has ended and offering me a discount if I go with Hayes Parsons new nanny sceme next year. Any opinions?? TIA.

Was the email from nannyinsure or hayes parsons?
If the latter then has nannyinsure given any info about a new provider?

nannynick · 17/10/2013 14:41

A quick look tells me that Hayes Parsons was not the underwriter, they are the insurer/insurance brooker.

What have they told you about new policy?

PM me if you like.

NomDeClavier · 17/10/2013 17:11

Interesting.... I shall have a nose around my contacts at Nannytax. I haven't heard anything specific re nanny insure withdrawing their service so they may have a new broker.

Likewise feel free to PM with any other details.

Could be worth calling NannyInsure/Enable and asking them.

I'll certainly give them a call if I dont hear anything from them shortly. I'll copy the email text I received below - it was sent from an email address I have had contact with before when setting up my original insurance.

Dear Miss #####

As you may be aware your Nannyinsure Public Liability insurance policy expires on 01 December 2013.

Nannyinsure is a specialist insurance policy offered by Enable Ltd, (often known as Nannytax), and has been arranged since 2007 by Hayes Parsons Ltd. Hayes Parsons is an insurance broker with over 50 years’ experience of arranging specialist insurance for professionals like you. Any queries you may have had or documentation you have received in relation to your Nannyinsure policy has been processed by Hayes Parsons.

Enable and Hayes Parsons’ relationship has now come to an end, and Hayes Parsons is pleased to announce the launch of its own product, the Hayes Parsons Nanny Scheme.

The Scheme is underwritten by Covea Insurance plc; the main aspects of cover remain unaltered and there are no extra conditions. We have also managed to maintain the same competitive premium.

As we value your business and want to continue offering you our market leading services, we would like to give you the opportunity of changing to the Hayes Parsons Nanny Scheme with a discount of £10 on your last renewal premium.

We expect to launch our new website very soon. However, to be sure of claiming your discount, I would be grateful if you could contact me on 0117 930 1671 or 0117 929 9381, quoting your existing policy number, prior to your renewal date. I will then be happy to arrange cover for you for the next 12 months.

Kind regards

Sue Vincent

Seems as though Hayes Parsons are trying to sell insurance to NannyInsure customers. Sure they may have provided the insurance to NannyInsure and administer that but wouldn't a customers contract be with NannyInsure not Hayes Parsons.

I would suspect that NannyInsure are arranging for a different insurance provider, so as your policy is due for renewal soon, call NannyInsure/Enable to find out what policies they can offer and compare it to policies offered by other insurance providers like Morton Michel.

Update.... Email from nannyinsure/Enable....

Dear Miss**

Due to a change in insurer, Nannyinsure (provided by Enable Ltd) will no longer be handled through Hayes Parsons.

Nannyinsure are pleased to announce that we are working with UK General Insurance Ltd Insurance, provided through Fish Insurance, who have over 35 years experience in the insurance industry.

Nannyinsure, as part of the Nannytax business, has over 20 years experience in the childcare market and continues to strive to protect both the employers of nannies and the nannies themselves by reviewing and amending our services in line with our clients’ requirements. Therefore while you may have been contacted by Hayes Parsons offering you their policy, our wish is that you stay with the tried and tested Nannyinsure brand, part of Nannytax.

The main benefit in the new policy is that there will be just one policy for a higher level of cover of £5m but at the lower price of £70.

When the new policy is launched before the end of this month all renewals will seamlessly be processed by the new insurer, and you would just continue to renew your policy via the Nannyinsure website – www.nannyinsure.co.uk as now.

Should you have any questions about the change please call 020 3137 4410 to speak to one of our advisers.

Yours sincerely,
Nannyinsure Customer Service

£70 does not sound too bad. Will you be staying with NannyInsure or looking at other providers? Probably wise to compare policy details, especially exclusions. Though I do wonder how policies from the various companies differ.

A while yet until your insurance needs to be renewed, so expect NannyInsure will have more details on what the policy covers on their website soon, meanwhile that may be available by calling them.

Hi everyone,

I received the same emails from both Hayes Parsons & Nannyinsure as well. I called Hayes Parsons this morning to check the situation and spoke with the same woman I dealt with last year when I first took out the policy. She was really helpful & just handled everything over the phone, great for me as I can't always get online during the day!

Hope that helps.

NomDeClavier · 29/10/2013 09:10

You took out the policy with HP directly? That seems very odd to me as your contract would be with Nannyinsure and they would be your point of contact.

lizcollins2 · 29/10/2013 18:32

I am not an expert, but apparently Hayes Parsons were the insurance broker when Nannyinsure first started 6 years ago until now, and I dealt with the same person on the phone as I have done since I’ve had my policy. They were a bit guarded on why they no longer work on Nannyinsure but their policy is cheaper and as they were the ones who arranged the insurance on Nannyinsure I was happy to agree to insure with them. Plus I got my documents straight away!

I also took out a policy with hayes pasons today. Interestingly, if you're confused about who hayes parsons are, the nannytax website still lists them as the insurance brokers and states they "wrote the policy and know it inside out" www.nannytax.co.uk/nannyinsure
