I have just managed to sign into my bosses sodding account on nannytax! I emailed straight away to tell him but he is really going to wind me up about it next week Blush

I went to log on with my ID and password and realised that it was different and asking me for my payroll number. I got my payroll number out and put in my password. Didn't work. Went to reset my password with my postcode, didn't work. Tried my old postcode, didn't work. Got annoyed at it, and then remembered that Ofsted go by your employers post code so maybe nannytax do too? Tried it, it changed the password to the account and told me what it was, then allowed me to log in. "Eureka!" I think, before I realise that it's addressing me as "Mr Pixie-Employer" Blush

What a twat I am! I then logged out and realised that the button for nannies is right underneath and is calling for my username and password which are exactly as they were the last time I logged in six months ago Blush

So take that as a warning nannytax users, pay attention to what you are doing!

I will add that this is the same employer for whom walked in on me watching the beginning of some stupid sex show because they put it on channel four for me before they went out for dinner, I couldn't work out how to change the channel and they came home just as the beginning credits were starting, I would have turned it off had I known what was on next! Not a very good password reset system at the sound of it. Most seem to email a reset link to the email address on file, so if it had done that you would not have had access and your boss would simply click the link and reset the password.

Maybe nannytax will see this and redesign their system to make it harder for an employee to reset the employers password and gain access.

No it doesn't does it. I may tweet them and see what they say, as I wasn't even intending to access my employers account yet managed to do it very easily.

I wasn't even aware nannies could log onto nannytax

Yeah, to download payslips, I think it's optional, my boss asked me and I preferred it to being handed a payslip that I would then lose!

Hi guys - it's Rosie from Nannytax here.

Thanks for making us aware of this. We are always working on ways to improve our site's security, and feedback like this is incredibly valuable to us. We are looking to get the password reset changed.

Hi Rosie, user testing customers doing things wrong is a handy way of finding things that are unexpected. Hope your techies find a simple fix.
