Weekly, fortnightly or monthly pay for an au pair?

We've always paid our our pairs weekly until now. However, I've had a few ask me what the monthly pay is so I'm wondering how common it is to pay less frequently than weekly? I can see it could be administratively simpler, especially if we were to pay over the NI LEL and hence have to start doing the new Real Time Information reporting. We've kept pay below this so far so we don't need to worry about this but I suppose things might change in the future. Is anyone else paying their au pair less frequently than weekly and if so has it worked out OK? Thanks!

We have always paid weekly...I would be surprised if any AP wanted payment monthly, especially if it was in arrears.

Weekly, by standing order direct into her account. I make them open a UK bank account for admin ease.

Depends if you envisage them ever doing any overtime that would bring 1 week above the limit for RTI. The norm is weekly.
