After School Club on Inset Day - still being charged for full fare

My DD's After School Club charged me full fare for his session lands on the Inset Day, but the booked session is not available. I was told I need pay a top up fee for DD to attend their Inset Day (a full day trip). I am not allowed to take DD to the club at 3:30pm session (of which I am charged for), as they are out for day trip on that day.

Is it a normal practice for the parents to pay for their usual sessions land on Inset days regardless the session is not available for the children to attend?

At DDs school we pay for individual sessions as and when we need them so on that day we wouldn't need a session so wouldn't pay
