I am looking for some new ideas for my two dcs (both primary age).

I am starting anew job in September and will need one day of childcare after school. I thought I had someone to pick them up but she has just rung saying she didn't want to do it anymore Confused.

I can't find any other childminder (all the ones picking up from our school are full).
Afterschool club is full.

What else can I do? Where could I look for someone to pick the dcs up?

Is there anybody at the school still? They may be abe to link you to a CM or another parent who would be happy to help. Pop your name on the afterschool club waiting list as they can move quite fast.

I would still try other cm, new ones especially as they may be able to go to the school if they don't go to other schools already.

Thanks :)

School is closed.
After school is highly is demand (due to very few CM around....).
At the mo, I have contacted all the CM I can find from all the websites, council lists etc I can find.
There is only one CM at our school and two who come by car and pick up from another school.

I will contact the after school and ask again but the reality is that I would never have accepted the job if I hadn't had some childcare sorted. It's shit.

Has anyone used a student or something like this for a couple of hours for that purpose? (I know they are not ofsted registered etc... but I NEED someone to look after the dcs, at least until something else is sorted out)

Have you tried gumtree app? People sometimes advertise on there as there is a section for nursing/nanny/carers.
