I'm off sick at the moment but one of the mums just called to update me on her baby as he's not been well. Turns out he has hand, foot and mouth but the information she's been given states he would have been contagious a week before his body started showing signs, therefore he should be ok to come tomorrow.

Just wondered if any of you have anything in your policies about this? Do you think I'm ok to take him? I had him last Friday so chances are we'd have got it then if we were going to get it. What do you think?

Hand foot and mouth IS highly contagious, but I think you will be fine to have him as he certainly won't be contagious anymore. As long as you're happy to have him he might still be feeling a bit grumpy. But if you're just worried about him infecting the other children then don't be, he's probably already infected them all Grin
Hope you're feeling better soon

Cheers for that, just been reading up on the internet to make sure.

I've told mum I'm going to work tomorrow as I don't feel as awful as I did yesterday so hopefully tomorrow I'll feel much better. Never knew Tonsillitis could make your whole body feel like yuck! :(

Anyway, she said her baby is still happy etc. so I said I'm happy to take him but if he gets really grumpy etc. I may ask to have him collected (as I won't be 100%) and she was fine.

Thanks :)
