Advice please re after school babysitting

I'm looking for some advice please. I'm due to go back to work in September after maternity leave with number three.
I'll be working an hour away and will struggle with nursery and after school pickups. I'll be working three days, one of which my partner has a half day so that's fine. One day I'll be able to leave early (flex) to collect but it leaves me one evening where we're stuck.
I'm thinking of asking at nursery if any of the staff would be able to bring my little two home, collecting my oldest from after school club on the way and giving them tea etc. I'm thinking we'd need two hours cover til 7ish.
I'm not sure whether I'd pay per hour or if if need to register as an employer or ..?I'm clueless as to how this would work really.
Any advice gratefully received! Thanks Thanks.

It would be worth asking- do your nursery staff do babysitting at all - or it might be worth employing a nanny - for three children might work out fairly cost effective and could be less stressful -there might even be a member of staff at the nursery that would be interested
