  1. I know as a childminder I can claim for training that I attend for the business. Does this include all courses or trainining you attend? what about business forums or event that will help you to take your business to another level. Not sure what you cannot claim for
  1. Does anyone know of any first aid courses being run in Herts before Oct that is under £100.
  1. Has anyone attended a Getting Ready for Ofsted course recently? did you find it useful. One is being run on 25 June. The good thing is that if Osted come b4 this I can get the credit back from this course.

How are you getting ready for Ofsted, your ideas are grately appreciated (thanks)

  1. What support are you getting as a cm? (childminding group? etc)

Thanks for your time Smile

There is a company in Potters Bar who run Ofsted approved day courses for first aid, and they are around £40 + vat, they will run it with a minimum of 6 people and in your home if you have the space. I will find the contact details for you.

I will probably host one later this year as mine is due Jan 2014, yo are welcome to attend.

There is little support in Herts, where are you exactly, first digits of postcode is fine, have done new childminder support for 15 years at lest!

For first aid, try DJB based in Hitchin. I think it's around £50.

£47 each and they had just 6 people and apparently they were very good last week, you can do 2 evenings and a saturday as an option, 0800 2425690 Brian

I've just done my first aid in Asda in Watford- think it was £46. The man is doing another one in October - maybe if you ring Berrygrove children's centre they will be able to put you down if it is local enough to you

Sorry for the delay in getting back to read your replies.

Thank you so much Mindingalongtime, I appreciate your reply. Will give them a call.

Thanks TwistAndShout. I will find out if they do it my area.

Berrygrove is running one but its just after mine expires. I am taking a change if I wait until then. Thanks for the reply though.
