I'm after a CM to start at 6.15am. It's not going to happen is it?! Is it even worth looking or should I quit my job wrack my brains for other options? Smile

I've had a reply from one lady to say those hours are no problem, so we're meeting next week! Obviously she still needs to be the 'right' person for us, but it is possible so I'm taking heart from that. Smile

No space for any live in nanny/ au pair I'm afraid, there's just about room in this house for the three of us Wink

Looking for a cm close to my work is a fantastic idea, thank you whoever suggested that (I'm on my phone so can't scroll back). I may look into it if I can't find somebody close to home.

Thank you everybody, and Reetpetit, I do apologise if I took your comments too much to heart, as I said I'm feeling fragile about the whole thing so I'm probably being over sensitive!

Oh, and no problems with dropping her to a CM who's I'm pjs, I wouldn't mind even if they could get her back to sleep good bloody luck and went back to bed!

I work in a very small team, and I'm the first to have a baby, which has been... A learning curve for everybody with regards to mat leave etc, so although others start early too, nobody else needs a CM.

Where about are you? I'm a CM & cover for early starts & late pick ups. I'm in north London though. Get in touch with your local council for a list of all the childminders & contact them asap. Leave an ad in your local library too/local baby shop where they accept ads.

Good luck

I would do a 6.15 start. Probably not 5 days a week, indefinitely but for what you're needing, I'd do it.

I used to have one mindee who was dropped off with me at 7am, in his pjs. They lived about 40 miles away and mum's work was 10 miles further on from me.

I agree, 100%, with Dutty and Dysgu about babies being adaptable and that your LO will be fine with the early starts.

Good luck!!

Ring and visit and ask. Dont go on the advertised starting times as they are often preset and folks are more likely to be flexible if you meet them in person. Expect to have to pay a bit more and for the minder to be in her jamas when you get there! I used to have an 8 year old that came at 5.30 in his jamas and I'd make him a bed of the sofa and he'd have another hours kip whilst I got organised. It can be done, dont give up!
