Triple Buggy - advice please

Need advice about the best triple buggy to get.

I am a Childminder - it's for 3 babies (10m - 22m).

My front door is very narrow and can only accommodate a tandem style, not side by side (unless 72cm wide or less!).

Money is tight - max spend £250, happy to buy off eBay.

Have been eyeing up Joovy Big Caboose, but need info from those who have used one!

Not sure what type of extra seats to go for - can you have two reclining ones? Trying to guess best combo... not easy and could change, so needs to be as versatile as poss. Have sold idea to hubby as less storage space ;-) Currently have far too many buggies in the house!!!

I decided on one reclining seat and one toddler seat for that reason. I thought that toddler seat doesn't give option for sleep but then I put the oldest inthat seat.
Have to say when all 3 seats are being used the actual buggy seat has not a lot of room at all. But I always put the smallest in there & at end of day they are all safe and I can get us all to where we need to be.

I had a lot of help from goldie (thank you) when working out what I needed. I decided I didn't need any raincovers, I have never used any yet in 20+ years! He threw in the baby sleepy bag and adaptor bar for buggy board instead.

From when I actually ordered and paid for it, it was about 4 weeks, I'd had lots of emails going back and forth, Phil is incredibly helpful too.

I had a piece that was slightly damaged, I emailed him on the friday and got the replacement part on Monday morning all the way from New Zealand!

I went direct to ABC not Gobubba go, they are expensive and have them on ebay for far more than I paid, and their shipping is expensive, they do have some good offers occasionally on their website. Phil charged a flat rate of around £100 shipping for all the parcels.

It is an amazing pushchair, so easy to take apart, all just pushbuttons to remove the extra seats, and the adaptor bars stay folded in place . If I take the front wheels off, it folds flatter than my P&T vibe!

The built in storage bag is amazing too!

I did also look at 'cobbling' one together as there was a single on ebay with a top toddler seat, but by the time I had added the stability bar and extra seat, there wasn't much in the price difference to justify not buying a lovely brand new one!

I have a Joovy, and yes it is heavy to push especially uphill when fully loaded. I think it does depend a lot on the weight distribution of the children as well. The third 'seat' at the back is just a bench with a lap belt and you really need a child who will sit still on it to be successful. I find that getting around corners is easiest if you can keep moving so you have the momentum to steer more easily, it is harder from standing still or going slowly. (School run's a pain at crowded crossing with other people not giving you room to move)

Could you carry one as a short term measure while you save up? ABC looks amazing and resale would be very good (I looked at these when expecting DS as DD will NOT walk). I have a Joovy Caboose for two, and it's good but a pain in the behind to push with a 2yr old and 3yr old on it. I dread to think what the single version would be like.

Badgerhead - I'm in Lewes... But I don't think the Joovy will work. Too many hills and cobbly streets! I'm struggling to push a Jane Powertwin up one particular (unavoidable) cobbly hill on school run twice a day. Bit thank you for the offer!

I dragged my old Mountain Buggy Urban out of the shed today to transport 2 - had to fold and unfold through front door every time I went out. But Blimey! it was so much easier and better once out. I'm hoping an ABC will be on a par with a MB (Oldskool style). While I just have 2 I think I'll just put up with the folding palaver.

No 3 doesn't start for a while, so I have time to mull it over and decide on a combo which will work for me. I'm thinking ABC, but not sure which combo yet.

With such an outlay, I need to get it right!

Mindingalongtime what do you do with bar that connects front toddler seat when you are not using it?

goldie, it just folds up into the seat unit, it is easy to remove, it goes onto the crews where the hood is.

I have removed my hood to make it easier, but may put it back in the summer, though I have a double sunscreen cover from my P&T that I may just throw over.

Yes minding- i've put it on but just wondering if tucks away a bit better without the seat on as I think the bars feel like they stick out a bit. It's only as I'm frequently using as single, double or triple with not much time for removing the bar if you see what I mean

all you would need is the front static toddler seat, as it already has the stability bar making it 4 wheels. Worth watching for the price as I don't think the listing title does it any justice, so may not attract a lot of interest!
