One of my mindee's turned up this morning with a cut on her forehead and a slight lump. Dad said she fell over on the way to the shop. Mindee is very quiet this morning compared to her normal self and also alittle upset and when I ask what's wrong she points to her head.

What do I do, I'm trying to contact parents to establish exactly when she did it. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Not alot you can do without finding out when it happened, if it was this morning, an ice pack would help, but the parents need to know asap that she is not herself.
How old is she, can she tell you anything about it?

Ask the parents if you can give her some medicine also.

She's nearly 3 and just says she fell over with mummy in the shops.

Will do. Thanks for your help.

You need to record it in your book as well. When my mindee fell over, with them, the parents said that i could take a picture as child had a very cut face.

Its difficult because you didnt witness it. You need to observe for increasing drowsiness, nausea or vomiting. either of those call the parent and tell to collect.
