At the moment i charge hourly, but i am considering changing my payment structure so that parents pay for either a day or half day depending on thier requirements? anyone got any advice on what works best for them?

aPART from a schooler i wont do under a morning or afternoon, they have to book one or the other otherwise it isnt worth it to lose a space.

I charge a flat day rate for 8 hours and any hours extra are charged at an hourly rate.

don't have any part-timers yet though so have no part time rate.

I've always charged hourly, and probably always will. As long as I have space to accommodate what parents want, I am happy to do it.

I've had several part-timers over the years and, if I happen to have the odd morning or afternoon with only 2 instead of 3 children, I see it as a bit of a "holiday" rather than loss of potential income (but then I'm a bit odd that way!)

I had parents trying to book 11 - 1 or even 11.45 to 12.45 so they paid the minimum and got a lunch....I had to stop that as it blocked a whole day

hi
Im hourly, like theprisoner I like having some days with less children and every few weeks I get an extra day off with the way all their shifts work :-)

looneytune · 09/05/2006 15:05

I'm hourly too but with a daily discount for the full timer I have (equivalent to £5 off a day - silly me was desperate to offer something different when I first started and now stuck with it for this mindee :(!!)
